Two entrepreneurs out of Orange County are aiming to make it easier for you to get rid of old electronics. Matt Miller and Jaime Gonzalez have created the Green Box, a 7-by-5-foot box being placed in several locations around Southern California with an eye to expand the idea to other states, according to The Orange County Register.
Once you dump your e-waste in, the Green Box folks have a de-manufacturing plant where they take it apart...

More than 80% of old computers, MP3 players, tablets and other electronic waste is tossed into landfills rather than recycled, reused or rendered harmless.
Would a convenient disposal method reduce that number? A couple of Orange County entrepreneurs are betting the answer is yes.

Green Box Electronic Recyclers Inc., a new Santa Ana-based startup, has implemented a service to help prevent the unlawful dumping of e-waste and reduce the disposal of electronics in our landfills. It is common knowledge that electronic waste must be recycled appropriately and should not be thrown out with the rest of the trash.
